Lillian was born Oct. 21, 1930, in Long Branch, NJ, the only child of Florence Page Hightower and Joseph Page.  She grew up on the Jersey Shore in Asbury Park, NJ.  Lillian graduated from Asbury Park High School, received a nursing degree from NYU/Bellevue and held a BA in Health Education from Jersey City State College. In 1958 she married Charles D. (Desi) Norman also of Asbury Park.  They had two daughters Janet Daniels Lucas (Jerry) of Savannah, GA and Helaine Norman Dolese (Tyrus) of Destrehan, LA.

Lillian’s nursing career began in NYC, where she worked for Visiting Nurse Service of New York.  She returned to New Jersey working for MCOSS, Harvey Robison, M.D. and then worked for 18 years as the school nurse and Health Teacher for Asbury Park Middle School. Lillian and Desi lived on the Jersey Shore in South Belmar, NJ from 1958 until 1990.

Lillian loved sewing, making many of her own clothes, as well as clothing for her daughters, quilting, knitting, and crocheting.  She also enjoyed gardening, growing both flowers as well as vegetables. She loved camping with her family and being a Girl Scout leader for many years.

Upon retirement she and Desi moved to Nathalie, Virginia where they became Master Gardeners enjoying their many acres of land.  They spent the early years of their retirement cruising abroad including jazz cruises, travel to Africa, South America, Asia, and the Mediterranean as well as a 96-day World cruise.

In 1996 they moved to Richmond, Virginia to be closer to their grandchildren Taylor Daniels (Richmond, VA) and Kirsten Daniels (Atlanta, GA). Lillian will also be missed by 3 step grandchildren Ty (Paulette), Ryan (Angela), and Emily Dolese. She was predeceased by one step grandchild, Katherine Dolese Guajardo (Drew). She will also be missed by 6 step great-grandchildren, Joshua, Patrick, Luke and Sophia Dolese, and Rebecca and Charlie Guajardo.
